Cymbidium suavissimum

This species has only been collected once and all plants in cultivation have come form that collection.  The scape is usually about 50 cm long with about 50  sweetly fruit scented flowers 3.5 cm across.

Culture

We grow and flower this species under shadecloth in Melbourne. It flowers in February for us.

Habitat

Reported to be evergreen , tropical, lower montane forest.

N Burma, North West Vietnam, 800 - 1000m
